Description:

This position uses independent judgment and decisions to collect company revenue from customers, from verification and posting to resolutions on complex discrepancies. Decisions in daily duties impacts Company cash flow. Responsibilities include both domestic and international customers and accounts.

Responsibilities Include:

• Carries out policies and procedures that govern the collection activities of the company.
• Researches and analyzes all customer account balances and maintains accounts receivable ledger.
• Contacts customers accounting personnel to inquire into the status of payments.
• Answers customer inquiries regarding outstanding invoices and credit memos.
• Prepares monthly statements on account for all customers.
• Generates credits to customer accounts while processing return material authorizations; makes recommendation that customers be passed to outside collection agency.
• Makes recommendation of when to Work with external collection activity and coordinates collection status with said agency.
• Communicates with outside sales reps, internal staff, and management regarding customer account status.
• Monitors shipments to comply with credit limits.
• Calculates monthly finance charges on past due accounts.
• Reconciles customer accounts to resolve discrepancies, some of which are complex in nature.
• Uses external financial information and evaluates trade reference to establish credit limits.
• Analyzes customers payment history and determines changes to customers credit limit amount and has authority to place accounts on hold.
• Assists others in accounting as necessary. 

Qualifications:

• Associate degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
• 2 years experience in accounts receivable or collections and general Accounting
• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of people in person and by phone
• Ability to project and maintain a professional manner with internal and external customers
