Job Description Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Occupational Medicine, Aurora Baycare Job ID: 99918 Location: AURORA BAYCARE HEALTH CENTER Full/Part Time: Part-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Number of Hours Per Pay Period: Military Leave Position: Responsibilities: Imagine yourself working with this team Aurora Medical Group is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work in our highly collaborative and leading edge environment. Due to our commitment to shared governance and shared decision-making, the Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for the provision of nursing care and the coordination of care for the patient in collaboration with Medical Center staff by performing various tasks and assisting with all aspects of patient care including basic lab and screening procedures, as appropriate. Imagine yourself - Providing basic nursing care according to established standards of care and assisting physician with examinations and procedures.
- Preparing patients for the exam room.
- Providing basic instruction for patients regarding routine procedures, treatments, or disease processes.
- Communicating with patients, family, or significant others and providing them with necessary emotional support.
- Initiating and maintaining IV therapy. Administering selected fluids with premixed medications.
- Administering IM, SQ, and intradermal injections per physician order. Performing EKGs, basic lab procedures, vision testing, tympanograms, vital signs, and simple dressing changes using principles of aseptic technique and Universal Precautions.
. Qualifications: - Advanced training beyond High School in Nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). May obtain within 6 months based on department discretion.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.
- Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
Desired Qualifications - One year of nursing experience with previous clinic experience preferred.
