Responsibilities:
Performs diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic exams to include patient positioning and selection of exposure factors within the Radiology Department in the categories described in the Specialized Know-How and Requirements section. Accurately identifies and labels radiographs. Assists the Radiologist in administering properly prepared contrast media. Daily practices all activities outlined in the Job Standards for Radiologic Technologist Students - Unregistered. Provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods and sound professional ethics. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology. Successful completion and documentation of clinical competencies and associated academic course work in the following areas: Chest, Abdomen, Spine, Cranial and Facial, Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Thorax, IVP, and GI procedures to include Upper GI, Small Bowel, Lower GI, and Gall Bladder. Successful completion and documentation of academic course work in the following areas of study: Patient Care and Basic Radiation Safety and Protection. Must possess good communication and patient care skills.
Scheduled Hours: As needed working in Diagnostics -- primarily to help cover PMs, Nights, Weekends
