Responsibilities:
Provides work direction to the staff with clear responsibility for the coordination of resources to efficiently support procedures, day-to-day operations and the smooth flow of patients through the department. Promotes an environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care. Advocates for rights of patients and staff. Promotes communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff to optimize the interdependence of all team members. Coordinates the needs of physicians and acts as liaison between the medical staff and the nursing staff by serving as a problem solver and mediator. Develops and maintains effective intra- and inter-departmental relationships. Facilitates positive communication with medical supply companies and their representatives. Evaluates the quality of patient care provided in the specialty area through collaboration with unit and organization resource people. Ensures policies and procedures are in compliance with those of the medical center, the nursing department, and regulatory agencies. In collaboration with the manager, conducts ongoing process improvement.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Wisconsin. Bachelor`s degree in Nursing. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills necessary. Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously.
