POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision is responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating a wide variety of refrigeration equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 1. Installs or maintains a variety of refrigeration equipment such as compressors, condensers, quick freeze tunnels, boosters, inter coolers, accumulators, evaporators, valves, meters and gas or water lines. 2. Periodically inspects equipment and diagnoses problems and maintains, repairs or replaces parts or assemblies. 3. Checks for ammonia leaks as required, wears gas mask and protective clothing. 4. Insures company complies with all government regulations as to safe maintenance of equipment. 5.Troubleshoots electrical problems by using amp meter and/or voltmeter on electrical motors and as required, replaces motors. 6. As required, maintains records of maintenance work done on equipment and condition of equipment. 7. May operate cranes or forklifts to move parts or equipment and machinery in order to accommodate repairs. 8. As required, works off ladders and/or fork lift staging lift to accommodate installation or repairs. 9. Is responsible for following company and governmental sanitation requirements. 10. Keeps appropriate personnel informed of supplies, parts and repair components needed for the efficient repairs of tools and equipment. 11. Is responsible for keeping work area clean. 12. Is responsible for working safely and informing management of unsafe conditions or unsafe acts. 13. May insulate pipe. 14. May be assigned to other tasks and/or perform other duties as require. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC: • Requires a high school diploma/GED and an equivalent number of years of education and Refrigeration maintenance experience; Prefer Work Ready Certified applicants. • An AA degree in industrial maintenance or Refrigeration a plus; • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong refrigeration, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC. • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
