Responsibilities: Performs as the Lead Clerk of the Shipping/Receiving Clerks and is expected to provide oversight of the clerical staff in the absence of the Onsite Logistics Lead. Must be familiar with the clerical steps taken by the other positions, which will vary in type or sequence, depending on the task. Must be familiar with all terms and procedures of the team. Recommends appropriate assignments of the staff, and methodology for completing tasks. Must be able to make recommendations for adaptations of work procedures and be able to interpret shipping and receiving guides.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Four (4) years work experience in a material handling/receiving/shipping operation or two (2) years of government or military experience in a material handling/receiving/shipping operation. Must be familiar with all aspects of material shipping and receiving to include the comparing of item quantities to shipping documents, verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing received items to shipper Bills of Laden, invoices and other records to include government contracts.
Other: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card or similar medical surveillance/examiner`s certificate that complies with OSHA standards. Must be able to operate a gas powered forklift and manual pallet jack. An Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
