Overview:

Through frequent dealership contacts in the field, and under the direction and management of the Director of Consumer Lending, provide dealers with finance-related customer service, training and support to enhance the competitive position and further the business interests of company.

Responsibilities:

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned as necessary.

• Identify and recruit potential Indirect Dealer groups throughout the service area.

• Train existing dealers and their staff on finance programs, processes and procedures.

• Train new dealers and their staff on finance programs, processes and procedures. Review the indirect program guide, current finance programs, and customer retention programs. Provide training, as applicable, to the dealers on said programs.

• Act as liaison for dealers with respect to company to resolve dealer issues, both on the front-end with underwriting concerns and on the back-end with funding issues.

• Provide comprehensive analysis of dealership performance, portfolio performance, competitive comparisons, as well as other aspects of dealer operations as they impact the relationship with company.

• By observation and insightful analysis, obtain competitive information for company with respect to financial developments, issues, trends, innovation, etc.

• Communicate company`s position on credit and other policies in a manner that promotes support and understanding of the Credit Unions business.

• Promote membership and expand utilization of products and services by partnering with indirect dealer contacts to maintain supplies of current company informational materials and resources.

• Proactively support the indirect dealer base with personal visits, phone and electronic contact on a consistent and verifiable basis.

• Establish productivity goals for each dealer and work with the dealers to meet those goals.

• Provide Director with plan suggestions, goal awards/incentive programs for the dealer.

• Research and rectify any and all indirect related member complaints.

• Maintain confidentiality in all credit union and dealer/member matters.

• Present a positive, successful image of the credit union through a professional appearance and courteous attitude.

• Be available to dealership personnel as mandated by the Director.

• Travel expected and required no less than 80-85% of the work month.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of dealership operations and indirect auto finance industry preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal and people skills.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Must be able to meet deadlines and establish objectives.

• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.

• Excellent analytical and conflict resolution skills.

• Ability to effectively manage time and territory.

• Must be proficient in computer software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, etc.

• Knowledge of lending practices to include fundamental understanding of state and federal laws governing consumer lending.

• Three years automobile sales industry experience, with a heavily weighted expectation of that experience to be in the finance department.

• Must have an acceptable driving record.

• Completion of high school with diploma required.

• College degree preferred.
