JOB SUMMARY

The Business Systems Analyst assumes direct responsibility to plan, design, develop, and deploy efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions.  This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
 
The role requires an individual who has depth and breadth within several of the following disciplines: Technology, project management, systems development life cycle (SDLC), and customer service.  This individual needs to know the business well enough to be considered a Subject Matter Expert and be highly respected by our business partners.
 
The role also need to be able to work in an Agile environment and be effective within that type of environment.

Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesnt meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associateds anonymous Ethics Hotline.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Work with Project Mgrs to resolve issues and ensure task execution. May serve as project manager on mid-size technology or small business projects. Follows established project management methodology.

2. Partners with business line to identify problems and provide multiple alternatives to address the issue. Provides both cost and time components of resolutions.

3. Able to provide business line support to daily use and issue resolution

4. Effectively communicate with both business lines and technology units. Conveys project and problem information in professional manner. Provides documentation according to established methodology standards.

5. Works with business line leadership on operational and value added tasks. Resolves issues.

6. Works with technology partners, ie. system engineers/DBAs and vendors to resolve complex technical application issues. Quickly assess issues, provide alternatives/work arounds to resolve issues. Performs root cause analysis. Provide on-call support.

7. Develop and maintain understanding of business applications ERD/data models. Work with vendors and other technology staff regarding mgmt report guidance. Work with DBAs on database design/tuning items.

8. Perform complex queries of database and manipulate data to provide necessary reports. Able to utilize reporting services and business intelligence tools to provide management level reports.

9. Effectively conduct various analysis and design tasks and create the design artifacts for business and technical review.

10. Provide leadership to junior and senior developers in design and business logic. Create test plans. Participate in development walk throughs to identify issues.

11. Maintain current and accurate vendor management documentation. Works with vendor to develop product roadmap. Works with business line and technology partners to ensure compliance to business practices and standards.

12. Work with vendors and technology staff to provide technical leadership to new application installations and/or upgrades. Leverage deep understanding of workstation and server components, network impact and database impact to minimize issues.

Qualifications
  JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Education
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Education
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in the financial services industry

Minimum Experience
5 - 7 years of experience working in the Information Technology field.

Preferred Experience
7+ years of experience using and/or supporting financial services systems.

Special Skill Requirements Computer Skills/Licensing/Certifications/Bonding
Strong knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle methodology

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Adherence to Company policy and procedures is required.

Basic math and reading skills, and attention to detail.
Use of basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, voice mail, "fax" machine, calculator, multiple line telephones, typewriter, computers etc.).
