JOB SUMMARY The Audit Manager is responsible for the management of financial and operational audits for business lines/entities assigned. This encompasses providing objective risk centric assurances with respect to the effectiveness of risk management practices, governance processes and the system of internal controls. The Audit Manager is required to stay abreast of financial performance, significant initiatives, the status of significant and business issues, fraud and operational losses and regulatory issues in their assigned businesses. The incumbent is required to maintain proactive client relationships with senior management (direct reports to executive committee members) and is the primary liaison with respect to audit matters relating to the assigned businesses.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Supports the Audit Director in the preparation and completion of the risk based audit plan. Maintains the long range audit plan assuring audits are scheduled within current cycle parameters.
2. Supports the Audit Director in coordinating audit work with the external auditors in a manner that assures maximum reliance on work performed. This includes SOC 1/SOC 2 and SOX/FDICIA related procedures. Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned businesses, communicating to senior management changes impacting audit and examination activities.
3. Responsible for staying abreast of laws, rules and regulations impacting assigned business lines and partnering with Risk Management to ensure the business risks are properly identified and mitigated within the business lines, and ensuring that the changes are incorporated into the independent assessment process performed by Corporate Audit Services.
4. Support the Audit Director through oversight of outsourced audit activities to ensure appropriate and timely coverage of business line risks. Manage the Statement of Work arrangements with Service Providers.
5. Primary contact with Senior Management (direct reports to executive committee member) within the assigned business lines regarding audit activities. Prepares all communications to the business lines and senior management regarding audit activities including Points for Discussion (proper identification of root cause and exposure), audit reports and other correspondence.
6. Supports the Audit Director with status updates on outstanding issues related to regulatory and audit findings.
7. Supports the Audit Director with an annual risk based assessment of the auditable entities within the assigned audit universe.
8. Supports the Audit Director in communications with respect to examinations of Corporate Audit Services and assures timely resolution of regulatory comments.
9. Management of assigned staff in accordance with Human Resources Policies, including performance evaluations, career development planning, training and recruiting.
10. Required to stay abreast of financial performance, significant initiatives, fraud and operational losses and issues within the assigned business lines.
11. Perform other duties as requested by the Audit Director.
Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Bachelors Degree and CPA required. Preferred Education Advanced Professional Certification as Certified Public Accountant.
Minimum Experience A minimum of seven years of progressive audit experience within the financial services industry is required.
Preferred Experience Twelve+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with an emphasis on audit experience.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Ability to interpret policies & procedures in accordance with standard banking practices Analyzing, interpreting and communicating complex issues and recommendations Adherence to Company policy and procedures is required. Perform duties in accordance with the Vision & Values of Associated Banc-Corp. Regular attendance is required. Basic math and reading skills, and attention to detail. Use of basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, voice mail, "fax" machine, calculator, multiple line telephones, typewriter, computers etc.). Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
Supervision Responsible for the management of supervisors and staff assigned for the completion of audit assignments. Also is responsible for management of outsourced personnel and oversight of outsourced audit activities.
Travel Travel to bank locations is required; travel is estimated at 30% to 35%.
