Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Public Relations and Manager of Public Relations, the Public Relations Intern will participate in a variety of public relations projects and activities related to media and community relations.
Job Accountabilities:
Monitor media coverage (Associated and the financial services and banking industries).
Draft basic press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, and other materials as directed.
Maintain Associateds media contact data base for key local, national and trade media.
Maintain the Public Relations shared network files, reference library, clippings files, and image library.
Assist in preparing department and measurement activity reports.
Assist with community relations activities including workplace giving campaigns.
Manage dissemination of select news releases.
Provide support on various projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Specifications:
Public relations intern will be actively enrolled in a university pubic relations, marketing, or communications program and preferably have at least sophomore standing.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Understanding of basic media skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
Sincere interest in learning and developing public relations skills
