JOB SUMMARY
Under direction of the Network Support & Systems Monitoring Manager, this position is responsible for performing the efforts of the those departments to ensure the bank’s technology solutions are designed, implemented and supported to acceptable specifications. Knowledge of Microsoft platforms and 3rd party products running on these platforms is required. A strong working knowledge of scripting concepts is also highly desired in order to improve and/or automate existing procedures

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Perform reporting and project management duties in accordance of ABC’s Project Management methodology and ITS Production Control standards, which includes: time reporting, resource planning, approval to installs, daily operation call updates, and other project management deliverables. Provide timely and accurate status updates to management for review.
2) Support various network technologies to ensure system availability and stability by performing the following activities:
• Respond to and resolve Tier II support calls from ITS Help Desk and ITS SA tickets within the service level agreements established with the business units.
• Provide after-hours Oncall support on an established schedule, including some weekends, and resolve critical business outages.
• Proactively identify key end user issues to reduce the long-term volume of support calls, and report those issues to management for review.
• Determines areas of technology-related inefficiencies and report findings to management for review.
3) Implement server and workstation systems, automated jobs and processes, and new technologies as approved by management.
• Test and implement software update requests across all business line systems, to ensure functionality is maintained and/or improved
• Automate routine processes using scripting skills to ensure successful execution while minimizing ongoing staff support needs.
• Create automated software installations using available tools and technologies to expedite the implementation of new and upgraded software products across the enterprise
• Correctly sundown unused system components after determining and eliminating all dependencies to other systems.
4) Design and plan organizations network systems, including server and workstation technologies, to meet strategic goals.
• Provides tactical and strategic input on overall planning of project initiatives.
• Evaluates and recommends changes to current and future network requirements to meet project and organization needs.
• Perform capacity planning on systems to ensure short and long-term performance and availability are met on technologies such as disk storage (SAN, DAS, NAS), server performance (CPU, memory), and network throughput
5) Communicate concise information to other staff members regarding bank systems to ensure overall staff knowledge continues to increase, allowing better customer service long-term.
• Cross-train other staff on technologies they are not familiar with by facilitating brown bags, hands on training sessions, and informing them of sources of additional information they can use.
• Coach and mentor junior-level department staff members drawing upon prior experiences as examples.
• Create written documentation of new and existing systems which may include: system diagrams, system overviews, knowledgebase entries, service level agreements, maintenance windows, and support contact information.
6) Monitor bank systems, processes, and software releases to ensure the high-levels of availability, performance, and stability as established within service level agreements.
7) Research new technologies, understand their viability within the network infrastructure, and recommend future projects to management related to those technologies. Utilize research findings to suggest improvements on new and existing systems based on the new technologies.
8) Act as project manager and/or provide expert consultation on complex projects, being considered a top-level subject matter expert on technologies who relies on experience and expert judgment to accomplish project goals.
9) Engage external vendors to improve the overall network infrastructure though support calls and enhancement requests, as well as obtaining hardware and software quotes for new purchases.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience:
At least three years systems engineering experience in a complex environment consisting of a large diverse population of users, computers, applications and technologies.
