This position reports to: Manager, Production Control
JOB SUMMARY Accountable for providing information to pertinent departments relating to production schedules, production plans, customer requirements, design change coordination, and parts/material ordering while maintaining a workable inventory level of all parts, materials, and finished parts in compliance with the Quality Management System.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES • Coordinate packaging to ensure a cost effective means to meet the customers’ needs. • Interpret and communicate production schedules in order to maintain the most suitable inventory levels. • Coordinate design change implementation. • Effectively communicate with ASMO-Japan to direct the overseas component parts activities in order to ensure a cost-effective logistics system. • Assist in the determining of master schedule development for new products. • Develop build-out/start up production plan. • Know and understand all policies and procedures and to be able to administer them fairly and consistently.
SCOPE OF JOB • Directly supervises production control specialist and clerks. • Responsible for an operating budget. • Responsible for determining proper inventory levels. • Requires teamwork and participation in Employee Involvement and the Quality and Environmental Management Systems. • Some travel required. • Other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Requires high school degree or GED equivalent. Preferred college degree or its demonstrated equivalent. • Requires 3-5 years of manufacturing experience; preferably with previous supervisory and/or production control experience. • Must be able to communicate effectively with outside resources and all levels of internal resources. • Must have proficient math and analytical skills. • Refer to Physical Essential Job Function manual.
QUALITY/ENVIRONMENTAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Understand your job responsibilities to perform, monitor and control the process. • Follow all procedures and work instructions pertaining to your assignment and make recommendations to improve the process. • Notify Management immediately when problems of non-conformances are detected. • Appropriately record problem or non-conformance to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken. • Assist in the problem solving process, corrective action and prevention activities. • Contain or stop the process as necessary to prevent non-conforming material from contaminating good material. • Learn, understand, communicate and practice the Quality and Environmental Management Systems. • Play an active role in achieving and maintaining the Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
