POSITION OVERVIEW Contribute to the organizations success by working with direct material suppliers to; assist in product launch activities, coordinate capacity management ensuring alignment to production demands, maintain lead-time, coordinate any component non-conformance recovery actions, establish material standard costs, participate in coordinating component change implementation and cultivating cost improvement ideas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Basic knowledge of supply chain principles
- Experience in Casting / component machining
- Experience in sourcing Engineered components
- Support and adhere to all EHS policies and procedures
- 25% travel
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education - Associate’s Degree and/or minimum 3 years direct material purchasing in a manufacturing environment having exposure to custom machined cast metal components.
Experience - MS Office Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong Problem-solving Skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Casting / Foundry knowledge desired
- MRP including; bill of material structure, costing, planning, blanket purchase order and purchase order maintenance
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work normally performed in office environment
- Occasional exposure to factory hazards
- Domestic and international travel required
