Communications Specialist - Public Information

Full-time - Days - 8 hour shifts
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the hospitals public relations and marketing activities. Assures quality and appropriateness of marketing materials and services produced; assists in monitoring and maintaining the hospital''s image and message through publications, advertising, media relations and other forms of outreach; collaborates with hospital directors, senior management and others to accomplish hospital''s mission, goals and objectives.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
Bachelor''s degree in journalism, communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Able to plan and coordinate public relations activities; must have strong verbal and written communications abilities; must be creative, a good listener, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Able to work independently, to meet tight deadlines and manage several projects at once.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five years experience in public relations, journalism or related field with emphasis on communication with the public.
