Position Summary
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physicians.
Job Qualifications
Education or Formal Training
1. Colorado LPN license in good standing.
2. One to two years experience in clinic setting preferred.
Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.)
BLS certification required by the end of conditional period.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
1. Knowledge of LPN scope of practice to assist in assessing patient needs, and administering and evaluating patient care.
2. Knowledge of human growth and development to inform and guide interactions with and care for patient ages newborn to geriatric.
3. Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems to administer patient care.
4. Knowledge of CLIA, OSHA, JCAHO regulations, and corporate compliance program.
5. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
6. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
7. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
8. Skill in using the nursing process to assist in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and modifying interaction with and care for patient ages newborn to geriatric.
9. Skill in taking vital signs.
10. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medication administration as directed.
11. Skill in maintaining patient records by careful documentation and recording of test results.
12. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality improvement.
13. Skill in working effectively with patients and their representatives, managers, staff, physicians, other hospital departments, outside agencies, and the public.
14. Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions.
