  • Position Summary
    The Telecommunications Analyst is responsible for proactively maintaining and repairing the telecommunications infrastructure within Boulder Community Hospital, including all remote campuses. Responsible for all add, move, and change requests and support as it relates to fixed and mobile telephones, the voice mail system, and the call center systems. Troubleshoots problems and works with other IT staff and third party vendors as needed to ensure reliable telephone communications within and between all campuses. Facilitates communication and escalation procedures when multiple staff and/or vendors are involved and proactively communicates with end users on the status of their service issues and requests. Works under the supervision of the Telecommunications Supervisor with assistance from the Technical Infrastructure and Facilities staff when needed/appropriate. This is an exempt position which is required to provide rotating on-call coverage and travel between multiple campuses within Boulder and Broomfield Counties.

    Job Qualifications

    Education or Formal Training
    Associates degree with a focus in the Telecommunications or Information Technology field of study. A combination of work experience and education may be substituted for the associate degree.

    Special Qualifications

    1. Must be a Certified Telecommunications Technician and hold a valid driver`s license.
    2. Experience supporting and maintaining an Avaya Definity G3 System is preferred.
    3. Data networking and Voice Over IP experience will be helpful.

    Knowledge, skill and ability

    1. Proficient in troubleshooting complex technical problems.
    2. Ability to integrate telephones into the PBX whether on site or in remote campuses.
    3. Excellent customer service skills with a strong customer service focus.
    4. Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to manage multiple tasks based on urgency/priority, and complete work within established timelines and defined service level agreements.
    5. Demonstrated ability to be self motivated and work independently with minimal supervision and/or within a team environment
    6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    7. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and keep informed of current technical advancements relative to the telecommunications industry.
    8. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products,

    Experience

    1. Must have at least two years hands-on experience in maintaining digital telephone handsets, PBX equipment, voice mail systems, call center software and wireless telephone systems.
    2. Must be able to work varying shifts and provide after hours support while on-call

    Material and Equipment Directly Used

    1. Computer and miscellaneous office equipment.
    2. Avaya PBX systems in a distributed network configuration.
    3. A variety of telecommunication tools and testing equipment.

    Working Environment/Physical Activities

    1. Performs a variety of tasks that require lifting up to 40 pounds, standing, stooping, and kneeling.
    2. Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention, satisfactory hearing, and visual skills.
    3. Requires manual dexterity - must be capable if manipulating small switches, using hand tools and connecting/configuring telephone equipment.
