Product Engineer

Summary:
This position all be located in Winona, MN. Responsible for all manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling to ensure that products are assembled to customer expectations and to provide primary customer contact for New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Launch (NPL) activities.
- Takes full manufacturing responsibility, leading products through prototype, pilot and production builds
- Performs Design for Manufacturability and works with Test Engineering on Design for Testability
- Assists in or developing project proposals and associated cost estimates
- Executes product's transitional manufacturing requirements and process approaches
- Develops in-depth knowledge of customer's products as required to support product's transitional activity.
- Oversees the implementation of customer documentation changes and internal change orders
- Participates in and supports NPI/NPL activities
- Uses statistical tools to lead quality improvement within the customer team
- Drives internal and external corrective action plans and owns resolution of issues interfacing with Process Engineering, Test Engineering, and Production.
- Actively participates in new customer development and new business development
- Analyzes line return information to understand and drives corrective action on manufacturing process issues.
- Performs product level FMEAs and product validations as required

Skills Required:
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and Windows applications
- Will demonstrate ownership, excellent problem solving skills, and creativity in developing sound technical solutions to business unit problems
- Will demonstrate the ability to solve and document complex cross departmental issues using structured problem solving tools
- Will demonstrate ability to work individually or in teams
- Will possess good written oral communication and presentation skills for internal and external customers
- Will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with co-workers and customers
- Will demonstrate regular, consistent attendance and flexibility to adjust hours as needed to meet customer needs.
- Will demonstrate engineering level understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems or mechanical components and systems depending upon education and related experience background.
- Will possess effective prioritization and organizational skills with particular attention to detail
- Will be able to travel up to 5% of the time, including day and overnight travel
Education Required:
- Must have a 4-year Engineering degree or equivalent
