Summary:
Reliability Engineering
- Coordinates effective reliability analysis and prediction for customer products within the BEI design team.
- Develops, leads and conducts reliability testing solutions and develops associated processes for customer products, using standard methods and equipment or wholly custom developments to provide solutions that meet both the customers' requirements and the Benchmark manufacturing support groups' requirements.
- Develops product reliability prediction processes using tools such as FMEA, Weibull, etc., and performs these predictions on customer products.
- Performs HALT's on customer products and maintains necessary documentation.
- Develops summary reports and presents reports to customer showing results of life time or stress testing.
- Performs reliability analysis and testing and creates necessary documentation.
- Communicates with customer technical personnel regarding reliability issues. Compliance Engineering.
- Focuses on planning for an effective agency certification function within the BEI design team, and the execution of agency certification for customer products.
- Develops testing methods and documentation and conducts reviews to meet agency requirements for customer products.
- Develops relationships with third party testing services along with technical services agreements.
- Performs agency compliance analysis and testing and creates necessary documentation. Regulatory Affairs.
- Focuses on planning for an effective regulatory affairs function within the BEI design team, and the execution of product and project documentation development and reviews to meet regulatory and agency requirements.
- Develops testing methods and documentation and conducts reviews to meet regulatory requirements for customer products and projects.
- Develops new and enhances existing processes to meet FDA, TL and other regulatory body requirements.
Other
- Contacts and works with equipment vendors.
- Develops and follows project plan and reports project status to leadership.
- Provides project level leadership and organization as required for multiple concurrent projects.
- Develops project proposals and associated cost estimates.
- Communicates technical challenges and implements solutions o Drives strategy development discussions on Benchmark customer team(s).
- Works with customers to understand customer requirements.
- Works with Benchmark manufacturing support groups to understand the requirements of the production environment.
- Develops an understanding of Design for Testability and Manufacturability and Reliability and promotes with customers.
- Works with hardware, software, test development, MCAD, ECAD, SDE and Business Unit Teams to effectively transition solutions to production.
- Provides project leadership, mentoring, and training for engineers.
- Develops and deploys processes and systems within the workgroup.
- Participates in identification and development of advanced technologies.
- Provides research and development for new methods of testing and prediction.
- Develops RF technology plans for the Winona Division's design and test groups.
- Manages projects and resources as needed for sustaining product support and project management needs.

- Will demonstrate day to day self-directed project activity organization in accordance with agency, compliance, regulatory and reliability testing project plans.
- Will demonstrate the ability to work within the engineering services project teams.
- Will demonstrate regular, consistent attendance, and will support an all shift production environment.
- Will be able to travel up to 10% - 20% of the time to include day and/or overnight travel.
- Will be able to perform sedentary work involving the use of a keyboard and mouse for six hours per day.

Experience Required:
- Must have 8+ years experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Must be familiar with regulatory bodies such as the FDA, agency certifications such as EMC, reliability engineering concepts.
- Must have intermediate knowledge of desktop publishing and spreadsheet applications.
- Must have experience in six-sigma concepts; green belt certified preferred.
- Certified Reliability Engineer accreditations preferred.
Education Required:
- Must have a 4-year technical/engineering degree preferably in electrical engineering or related studies.
