Job Summary Manages various specialized electrical, mechanical, and manual tasks associated with electronic product manufacturing. Coordinates and manages human and material resources to achieve delivery of quality products on schedule and within/below budget. Ensures assigned team members receive the training they need to perform their functions efficiently and cost effectively. Must be an effective communicator with proven track record in team building and effective leadership. Essential Functions and Competencies Communicates effectively, in both written and verbal formats. Must be positive and respectively, reinforcing a company culture of respect, teambuilding, and collaborative management strategies. Effectively mentors employees at all levels. Understands and uses continuous improvement tools. Drives solutions to complex planning issues with limited supervision. Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required. Must be flexible in established work hours and willing to be available as needed when business dictates extended hours, weekends, and holidays. Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills. Effective interpersonal skills with employees and customers. Effective negotiation and problem solving skills. Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company. Demonstrates leadership and people management skills. Demonstrates teamwork and the ability to operate on diverse project teams with minimal direction. Solid financial understanding, risk analysis ability, relationship-building, and project management. Leads or at least participates in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format. Qualifications / Education / Experience In collaboration with leadership team, plans, directs and coordinates Production to achieve goals for resource utilization, quality, delivery and cost of products. Following established guidelines and expectations, identifies and fulfills all personnel staffing requirements to meet objectives for production volume, introduction of new products and implementation of improvement programs. Provides feedback toward developing and implements an annual operating plan for manufacturing, which is consistent with and supports the business plan. Assists in developmenting and implementing improvement programs consistent with the corporate and site objectives to improve quality, delivery, cycle time, cost and asset management. Develops, implements and maintains active programs in the areas of training and personnel development to improve job skills and performance, provide career opportunities both inside and outside manufacturing and build a cohesive and effective team. Works with Program Management and Planning to develop production schedules consistent with customer requirements and manufacturing capability. Identifies equipment and facility requirements to support the short and long term business plans. Actively participates in new product development programs to assure rapid transition into manufacturing. Evaluates worker performance; recommends salary changes, promotions, discipline, leaves of absence and terminations. Ensures team members comply with company policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring a positive, collaborative work environment that is conducive to employment confidence building and engagement.
Must have 5+ years electronics manufacturing experience; contract manufacturing preferred. Requires minimum 3 years of experience in leadership role.
Four year technical degree highly desirable. Equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management may be considered. Job Category Manufacturing Job Location Huntsville, AL, USA
