Human Resources Manager

Job Location: Winona, MN

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Administrative

Shift: Day

Summary:
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all division co-workers; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains co-worker handbook
  • Supervises/leads the recruiting and employee relations efforts, ensuring compliance, fairness, and consistency; manages HR Administrators and Generalists.
  • Develops department goals, objectives, systems, and process improvements
  • Acts as a resource to leaders/managers regarding co-worker issues
  • Acts as a resource to all co-workers
  • Handles employee counseling and provides suggestions/recommendations for handling co-worker conflicts
  • Assists in the training of and monitoring of the training for co-workers, to include but not limited to, interviewing, handbook review and harassment
  • Performs routine plant tours and conducts various audits, to include but not limited to, computer use, attendance, HR records
  • Develops responses to unemployment or other legal issues, attends hearings, etc – works with in-house council on legal matters
  • Present HR information at all coworker or other meetings
  • Responsible for interviewing, recruiting, offering positions to applicants and sets up new coworkers – may use an outside recruiter/ads/on-line to assist in recruiting
  • Recommends and selects new hires as well as recommends and performs disciplinary action up to and including terminations
  • Assists with other HR functions as needed

Skills Required:
  • Must have extended training on-the-job or by classroom in recruiting and employee relations
  • Must have a advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets
  • Will demonstrate confidentiality
  • Will be able to demonstrate effective communication, both written and verbal, and strong presentation skills
  • Will demonstrate effective leadership, interpersonal skills, and team work
  • Will demonstrate regular, consistent attendance and be able to work weekends and off-shifts as needed
  • Will demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
  • Will demonstrate knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration
  • Will demonstrate the ability to interpret/understand and follow through on employment laws, state and federal
Experience Required:
5+ years HR experience

Education Required:
Must have a 4 year degree, Human Resources degree preferred
