Manufacturing Technician I

Summary:
Maintain manufacturing processes, materials, machinery, and tooling to ensure that products are assembled in an efficient manner and meet customer quality and on-time delivery specifications.
• Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing activities requiring PPE usage for safety reasons including but not limited to respirators.
• Responsible for quality and throughput of all assemblies assigned to their area. Drive corrective actions according to applicable process instructions.
• Monitors work cell performance by reviewing the accuracy of routing standard times to actual times, process yield (PFS), utilization and downtime.
• Initiates Corrective Action Plans, Process Change Orders, shutdown/restarts and follows through to completion. • Initiates and coordinates mechanical and electronics repairs on needed equipment.
• Coordinates ordering spare and/or replacement parts.
• Works with production to set up equipment.
• Signs parts out of stock. And fills out work orders properly
• Initiates and performs preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
• Participates and is an active member in work center teams.
• Works with Advanced Technologies in new equipment qualifications.
• Identifies work center layout issues to floor layout team.
• Supports placement of preventative maintenance procedures in place.

Skills Required:
• Must be computer literate in Office and Windows applications.
• Will be able to work individually and on a team.
• Will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of Benchmark’s systems within manufacturing engineering support.
• Will demonstrate ability to learn and perform job specific responsibilities.
• Will be able to support department work schedules.
• Will be able to support an all shift production environment and demonstrate regular, consistent attendance. • Will demonstrate professionalism.
• Will demonstrate ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers, and service centers.
• Will demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Will be able to perform full body motion to include bending, reaching, flexing/extending neck and pinching or grasping throughout entire shirt
• Will be able to lift up to 20 pounds a maximum of four times per hour and 20-30 pounds once every two hours.
• Will be able to stand and work on feet for up to 7 hours of an 8 hour shift and up to 9 hours of a 10 hour shift
• Will be to tolerate flux and alcohol vapors
Experience Required:
Education Required: • Must have a 3+ years of previous EMS technical experience or a 2 year degree.
