Test Engineer

Job Location: Winona, Minnesota

Summary:
This position will be located in Winona, MN.
· Identifies customer needs by working closely with Customer Service and Design Engineering to support new Customer development and startup as well as working on test requirements, customer test strategies, tools and equipment required and specific training to meet Customer requirements (Functional testers).
· Participates on Customer Team and Quality Improvement teams
· Supports Test Process on the Production floor by: increasing test process reliability; analyzing tester performance; dealing with line returns; deciding In-Circuit Test vs. Functional; monitoring visual defects; ensuring product tester Engineering Change Orders are incorporated; and maintaining tester documentation
· Ensures product flow through Test area by: eliminating False Fails; debugging product by identifying defects; supporting operator technical questions; continuously improving product with Real Time Process Feedback; setting training and limits; and supporting operator technical questions
· Analyzes Test Data by: establishing Debug methods; establishing board debug logs; for Test Instructions and Debug; yielding tracking analysis of fallout data; performing root cause analysis for test yields; identifying top hitters that are impacting yield; creating corrective action plans to improve test yield; defining Debug and Repair Process Data Collection needs
· Creates and maintains Test instruction. Manufacturing Instruction maintenance of Test related operations
· Trains Test Technicians and Operators in Debug support as well as coordinates training with Design Engineering for Functional tester transfer, provides operator training
· Establishes improvement files for customer product respins; understands customer and BEI philosophy and test needs; interfaces with customer on reliability and test coverage; and understands changes brought on by manufacturing process as a Customer Team Member.
· Establishes tester maintenance procedures and schedules; identifies and manages tester spare parts inventory; maintains tester documentation including BOM’s and drawings; trouble shoots testers and performs necessary repairs.
· Interfaces with Design Engineering in the tester development per the Design Engineering Project Life Cycle Document
· Handles Line Returns in the following respects: monitoring production flow, assisting in failure analysis, working with Line Return Processes, and providing feedback to new builds
· Plans for test in regards to Test Systems, Capacity, Staffing including System Training, Customer Schedule Impacts, and Diagnostic Instruments
· Understands environmental stress screenings so we can support and watch for Debug Fallout
· Understands device programming as well as helping determine if parts can be programmed in-circuit and supporting change controls

Experience Required:
· Must be computer literate in Office and Windows applications
· Must have a solid statistics understanding

Education Required:
· Must have a 4-year Engineering degree, related technical degree, or equivalent education
