Summary
Your primary function is to produce high quality designs, drawings, development work and documentation in support of Our Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

You report to the department manager; and usually to a program coordinator for project work. Normally, no one reports to this position unless assigned for specific work. This position is based in Rogers, Arkansas.
Job Duties
Your duties include fire protection hydraulic calculations and sprinkler system layout with the production of construction documents for commercial building projects.
In addition to design, some travel to the project site may be required for this position. Your travel will either be pre-design visits to existing facilities or visits during construction. Your projects can be anywhere in the USA.
You will be assigned to one or more of our Client Project Teams.
You will be coordinating your projects with our in-house Architectural, Electrical, and Mechanical design Staff, and possibly outside consultants as well. You will use AutoCAD in your daily work.
The quality of your work is important, and is rewarded here. At the end of a project, before you turn it over to the quality checker, you will be expected to first check the project yourself. We are nationally-known for the high quality of our work, and we're looking for someone to help us maintain this level of excellence.
The type of projects you'll work on are retail projects, and may include both new construction and renovation projects.

Qualifications
The follow items are required:
• A high school diploma or GED.
• 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Hydraulic Calculation software.
• Proficiency in Word.
• Proficiency in Excel.
Important Note:
You must clearly state all of the above required qualifications in your resume and/or cover letter, or you will not be considered for this position.
The following items are strongly preferred:
• NICET III certification.
Your work environment is mostly in an office. Work days of 10 to 14 hours in length, or more, may occur. Ability to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in person and/or over the telephone is required. You must be able to understand complex project scheduling, various types of graphs, and be able to visualize the final product of your work.
Frequent lifting or moving of 10 pounds is required. Occasional lifting or moving of 50 pounds or more may be required.
