Production Technician- Caldwell, ID
This position will be responsible for running and overseeing production lines and ensuring that duties are performed in an accurate, timely, safe and cost effective manner. This post will also be responsible for all maintenance duties and ensuring that machines, equipment, and facilities are in safe, efficient, well maintained condition at all times.
Principal Accountabilities:
40% I. Production Duties· Operate various equipment including mixers, Olivers, drying decks, bagging equipment shrink wrap equipment.· Accurately follow instructions and record data on production tickets including batch sampling and other duties associated with batch formulation, such as weighing, addition, and mixing various ingredients.· Comply with all Safety Regulations, including, batch ticket safety equipment specifications or any other safety issues that may arise.
40% II. Maintenance/Preventative Maintenance· Perform necessary maintenance and repairs on equipment used in the manufacturing process (bearings, elevator bucket, hydraulics, conveyer belts, Sewing Machines, Bagging units, Drag belts, Clippers, forklifts, tanks, and all other related equipment as needed).· Welding and electric needs; this may require immediate and timely response.· Make sure Safety equipment and gear, is in compliance with OSHA and ISO 9001 guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.· Continually maintain plant site, warehouse, and maintenance shop (both interior and exterior) for cleanliness and organization, as well as the general upkeep of the shop truck, lawn equipment, snow removal equipment, etc.· Responsible for the care and inventory of spare parts so that all equipment is kept running in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that scheduled production needs are met.· Maintain preventative maintenance log.· Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
10% III. Inventory· Responsible for ordering: daily supplies relevant to shop, inventory replacement parts, and supplies/tools/parts necessary to ensure ongoing operation of company equipment.
10% IV. Shipping/Receiving· Unload, store and process data for incoming raw materials. · Provide production line with materials required to process production needs. · Prepare, load and process data for outbound shipments.
High School diploma or equivalent required; Technical or 2 year degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience in maintenance and experience in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical or pneumatic and/or welding. The candidate will have solid computer skills, a strong work ethic and strong commutation skills. Bilingualism is a plus. A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift 50lbs. required.
