PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant)

Job Description:
We are seeking a PTA with an Associate Degree (2 years plus internship) from accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program at a recognized college or university No experience required but must be
License/Registration in North Carolina Physical Therapy Assistant Licensing examination. Must have a valid North Carolina Physical Therapy Assistant license. Thorough knowledge of PT treatment, standards and procedures required. Must communicate the results of the treatment in notes and reports to the PT's, physicians, and others. Thorough knowledge of PT procedures is needed. Special training may be required to use certain types of equipment. Ability to apply principles of life span growth to assess and interpret patient status and provide age appropriate care based on the patient's special needs.
Knowledge, skills and abilities to provide speech therapy to patients with chronic or acute illness or injury appropriate to the age of the patient. Must function well independently. Knowledge of sign language helpful. Possesses skills necessary to perform modified barium swallow studies in conjunction with a Radiologist. Knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and patient's status and interprets the information to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age and specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Policy/Procedure manual.
