Quality Assurance Analyst I
Job Location: Herndon, VA
JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Analyst I will work with Application Development staff in maintaining a quality assurance process for testing applications. The QA Analyst I will work under the direction of the AVP Application Development and Quality Assurance Team Lead in analyzing system requirements, preparing and executing test plans, and documenting deficiencies. Seeking a candidate with an excellent background in computer systems and a proven ability to learn quickly and successfully complete new assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Create test cases, test plans, and Use Cases for various levels of software testing.
· Hands-on manual testing to validate software meets requirements.
· Respond to and investigate production issues.
· Coordinate with end users to schedule and support User Acceptance Testing.
· Enforce quality standards and procedures through entire software development lifecycle.
· Manage task milestones to ensure on time delivery.
· Create and maintain application business logic documentation and Use Cases.
· Keep an electronic record of application deficiencies found in testing.
Job Requirements:
- College Degree.
- 1 - 3 years QA testing experience.
- Experience in testing Web applications.
- Experience in testing Windows client applications.
- Experience in testing Unix server applications a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and evaluate application issues.
- SQL language skills, including writing query syntax and using SQL tools.
- Ability to write clear, concise testing plans.
- Ability to clearly communicate with users, developers and management.
- Experience in creating visio flowcharts preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel, and power point).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a team player, and work well with others.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
