Job Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD with experience, Bachelor's degree with 10+ years or Masters degree with 6+ years experience in a related scientific discipline
Advanced training in the area of technical expertise, in particular virology, microbiology and immunology
Demonstrate knowledge of field
Ability to propose new experimental designs
Ability to plan and conduct laboratory experiments, and evaluate and interpret data
Ability to provide training and guidance to laboratory personnel
Ability to conduct probing experiments
Ability to prepare technical reports, publications and oral presentations
Act as a leader in absence of supervisor
Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations
Virus and bacterial isolation from clinical samples, virus purification, microbial characterization including but not limited to bio-chemical, EM,genetic, and protein characterization
Experience with in vitro assays and skills, including but not limited to, ELISA (all types), SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, Densitometry, Mab production, lab scale protein purification, EM, PCR, Cloning and standard expression systems, and bio-reactor growth

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Initiates, designs, troubleshoots and completes routine/non-routine and difficult procedures in an efficient and independent manner
Proposes, wins team support and implements independent ideas from individual's science and understanding of biologicals research, immunology, microbiology and virology
Proposes, evaluates, and implements new technologiesCommunicates and defends own work in the context of the team goals effectively orally and in writing
Works within the immediate discipline as well as commences working within a multi-disciplinary environment
Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics
Complies with USDA, VICH, EPA, and OSHA regulations, performing all work in a safe manner. Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies. Supports and embraces diversity as an employee and representative of BIVI
