Job Description:
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from accredited engineering school, or the equivalent on-the-job training & experience gained by working in the Engineering industry a minimum of 10 years
* Professional Engineer's License is preferred
* Five years of previous supervisory experience in the engineering environment or an equivalent combination of education and experienc
* Supervisory training/management courses
* Planning, organizing, coordinating and developing projects, budgets
* Obtaining bids, coordinating construction projects for facilities and/or equipment repairs, negotiate contracts, discuss projects
* Abreast of new developments in Engineering fields that pertain to facilities, utilities, and various other operations throughout plant
* Scheduling capital activities to meet production needs. Coordinating construction activities to minimize impact on production
Duties & responsibilities:
* Perform, edit, review, and approve project feasibility studies
* Provide training to customers and direct reports on good engineering procedures.
* Prioritize engineering and validation activities to meet corporate short-term and long-term plans
* Manage capital budgets for Operations activities, including some accounting functions
* Edit, review, and approve project contract documents including drawings and project specifications
* Provides technical support for Facilities Engineering and Operations on equipment related issues
* Direct project managers in prioritizing and communicating to customers project deliverables and timelines.
* Manage contracts for various construction management, general contractors and consulting companies
* Communicate project progress to end users, company management, and corporate management
* Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international codes and regulations
* Review architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and equipment drawings for conformance to design specifications
