Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Agriculture or Life Sciences (or equivalent industry experience) required
- MS or MBA preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with successful history in sales of animal health or related products required
- Qualified Candidates for the position of Sales Representative - Swine, should have a minimum of 3+ years of sales/territory management experience with a proven, consistent track record of exceeding sales goals. It is preferred that this person will have worked in or called on the Animal Health industry and have an understanding of the Swine Production cycle, from sow farms to finishing sites
- Skills should include familiarity with Consultative/Strategic/Solution sales techniques, in addition to strong Product Selling experience. He/she must be adept at using and demonstrating these techniques to identify and then meet customer needs in a timely fashion. Also required is a proven track record of dealing successfully with client decision makers at various levels
- This Sales Representative must understand how to work with internal (BIVI) and external customers. They must be able to prioritize and target likely and profitable customers within their target territories
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sell all assigned customers, veterinarians, and producers on swine products covering new information, new indications, promotional programs, pricing, etc
- Work with customers to ensure that BIVI is aware of their needs and establish solid relationships across the assigned territory to build long-term strategic partnerships/alliances
- Complete business plans, maintain current customer profiles and call reports for all accounts on a contact management database
- Utilize time management to ensure maximum customer contacts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Attend industry conferences as assigned and have involvement in local and state affiliated organizations and with key opinion leaders
