Overview:
The Consumer Banker is primarily responsible for retaining and expanding customer relationships and solicits new retail business from existing and prospective customers by offering bank products and services while maintaining service standards and transaction responsibilities. Consistently meets or exceeds the customer's and prospect's expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Discusses and identifies customers needs with customer to develop profile; sells a full range of retail products/services such as deposit accounts, retail loan services, credit cards, safe deposit boxes; opens new deposit accounts; originates and closes retail loans and small business loans/lines up to $100,000; meets or exceeds established branch Lift/profitability objectives.
- Cross sells a full range of consumer banking services to existing and potential customers through proactive customer techniques in order to promote new business; targets customers through extensive customer profile research; identifies and calls on existing or prospective customers; recognizes prospects and obtains appointments utilizing outbound telemarketing telephone techniques.
- Identifies other cross-sell opportunities and refers customers and prospects to the Investment Center, BOk Mortgage, Treasury Services, Trust, Commercial Banking, etc.; develops and maintains a continual referral network with tellers, customer service representatives, Commercial Lending, PFS, BOSC, and external contacts.
- Branches that do not have Customer Service Reps may have additional customer maintenance duties such as resolving a variety of simple to complex customer problems, account balance discrepancies and account inquiries.
Qualifications:
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate's Degree in a business related field or 3+ years equivalent experience in retail sales, customer service, or teller operations.
- Working knowledge of bank operations and/or retail sales operations
- General knowledge of consumer lending and regulatory requirements
- Excellent sales skills both in person and via telephone
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, and to gain information from individuals/customers
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in order to balance accounts
- Working knowledge of PC; good 10 key skills
- Good interpersonal and team building skills
Preferences:
- Sales aptitude/self-motivated/goal oriented
- General knowledge of retail banking products, services and delivery systems
- Previous customer contact experience
