Maintenance Supervisor
Job Location: Nevada, IA
Shift:
6 pm – 6am
General Description:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of maintenance technicians. Responsibilities include maintaining product and employee safety, productivity, equipment integrity, and proper operating conditions. Also support efforts and provide feedback to maintain or increase yield, quality, and sanitation standards.
Essential Functions:
Analyzes and solves work problems, or assists workers in solving problems; recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures; coordinates with plant management and other supervisors to maintain established production standards; recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of equipment to increase efficiency of employees; participates in Company Quality team as needed; monitors machine operations to improve safety and detect defective operation and product; keeps maintenance and time card records; knows and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices. Will be required to work and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. Will be required to protect the company’s rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information.
Analysis of reactions of equipment to variations in raw materials, product specifications, and design changes; customizing of equipment to meet present and expected future needs; determination of equipment damage probability versus shut down for repair; performance of chemical tests on required equipment and determination of needed actions based upon results; installation and operational checks of new equipment.
Maintenance of parts requisitions and sign outs (including bill of material for project and parts research); ensuring that equipment changes are properly documented in the associated equipment manual; working within request /order system to include reassigning priorities according to present time events and circumstances; recording of time worked and time spent on individual tasks.
Personal Qualifications:
A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required, plus 3-5 years of experience in machine systems repair and/or modification with integrated utility supplies. Integrated utilities include but are not limited to: electrical/hydraulic, pneumatic/electrical, pneumatic/pneumatic.
OR
A graduate of an accredited vocational school with 3-year experience (same as above). Must be proficient in 3 of the following skills and possess a working knowledge in at least 2 others: mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and refrigeration, welding.
Must be mechanically oriented, a team player, self-motivated, and willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required. The qualified individual will have demonstrated strong leadership traits, will be able to communicate effectively, possess initiative, be tactful, analytical, and exercise sound judgment. Must possess manual dexterity and be able to read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Must be able to follow instructions and demonstrate dependable attendance. Must have valid driver’s license.
