Industrial Sales Manager
Job Location: Nevada, IA
General Description:
This position manages the Industrial sales activities of the company and oversees the activities of customers who manufacture further processed entrees and products using our fully cooked meat items for retail, foodservice, and military segments.
Essential Functions:
Helps to determine proper contribution and return of Industrial manufacturers in the selling of ingredients of prepared entrees. Will be responsible for calling on, maintaining business and overall generating of new business opportunities at food manufacturers, pizza manufacturers, caterers, contract feeders, and other related type customer opportunities. Will also include contact with non-pizza chain restaurants. Will be responsible for helping to develop new products and menu ideas with customers and customer potentials. Will work closely with customer service, R&D, QA and even operations in some capacity when the situation warrants. This will be in the form of product sample evaluation and help in guidance with the needs of a customer or potential customer regarding product and product type. Will be instrumental in working with Sales Support on pricing and logistical opportunities. Will work with customer service on shipping, logistical and pricing needs. Will need to interact with foodservice and the RSM’s and the territorial crossovers that might arise. The department will grow so the need to have support sales people in the Industrial sales department might require the management of those sales people as the need arises.
Personal Qualifications:
A college degree in Business with a major in Marketing is preferred, but not required. Food sales experience is desirable. R&D and sales experience preferred. The qualified individual should possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be self-motivating and able to work effectively under limited supervision. Out of town travel is required. Must be available for evening and weekend work as required.
