***This position is located @ 199 Hospital Drive Galax, Virginia***
Provides nursing support in the delivery of quality care for the patient in an office setting as directed by the physician or mid-level practitioner. Complies with all federal, state, local, Carilion Health System and CMG policies and standards, as applicable. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served.
JOB SCOPE:
- Frequent communication/interaction with patients, physicians, co-workers, and reference lab staff.
- Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
- Work may be stressful at times.
- As a representative of Carilion Medical Group, you are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance, demonstrate commitment to service at all times and adhere to policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing required.
Experience:
One year experience in a physician office preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
Current licensure as a Practical in the State of Virginia. Licensure as a Radiologic Technician Limited if performing radiology. Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to problem-solve and communicate with a wide variety of people in an effective manner.
- Must exhibit skills to utilize automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
- Keyboarding skills required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
