Job Details:
Basic Function:
Must possess skills to provide assessment, consultation and referral services to individuals, community services and agencies. Will provide clinical assessments to individuals and make treatment recommendations. Will manage the multiple factors and variables that interplay in the decision making process for determining and following through with treatment recommendations. Will balance and coordinate the needs of referral sources, physicians, and clients/patients. Manages many situations at one time, many of which crisis oriented. Provides appropriate feedback and follow up to all involved in the referral. Understands the symptomatology of psychiatric illnesses and use good judgement in knowing when to consult the Connect manager, Medical Director, Psychiatrist, or other professionals.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:
BSN preferred or Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in psychiatric inpatient setting. Crisis experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration:
Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Virginia. CPR required. Valid Virginia Driver's license required.
Other minimum qualifications:
Must have strong psychiatric assessment skills, excellent communications skills and good working knowledge of the psychiatric community, both public and private. Flexibility a must. Must be able to work in stressful environments. Job is primarily sedentary, walking, standing, ability to lift up to 30 lbs., and occasionally moving patients in wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.
