***SCHEDULE WILL BE A MIX OF 7:00 PM AND 7:00 AM SHIFTS WITH OCCASIONAL 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM AND EVERY OTHER WEEKEND WITH 50 % OF HOLIDAYS ON ROTATION***
This position is located in Lexington, VA, at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.
Basic Function:
As part of the health care team, assumes primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages. Utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to patient care. Customer service is a high priority.
Significant Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in order to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to service area.
Promotes Carilion''s culture of service excellence and quality by implementing and accepting accountability for the service standards: provide excellent service to patients/customers; build strong relationships and team cohesiveness; focus on quality and positive solutions; communicate respectfully; demonstrate compassion and understanding in response to patient and customer requests/needs.
Champions the Carilion Clinic and Nursing Services'' mission, vision, values and philosophy; complies with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company.
Education: Graduate of school of professional nursing required.
Experience: Three - five years of ED/Critical care experience required.
Licensure/Certification:
Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must obtain/maintain BLS. May be required to obtain/maintain ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.
Minimum Qualifications Required: Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Keyboarding skills required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. Must be flexible and motivated. Customer Serivce is a top priority. Must be able to meet essential job functions.
