Supports Carilions hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Accountable for performing one or two of the core job responsibilities (patient registration, switchboard/phones, patient check in process, patient check out process) in addition to basic front office workflow functions vital to the effective and efficient functioning of the medical practice, clinic, and/or department. Performs additional functions related to front office operations to meet specific needs of the practice, clinic and/or department. Serves as a resource person for patient, physician, office staff, various facilities, service lines, and outside agencies utilizing effective communication, courtesy, confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree or continued administrative education preferred.
Experience: Clerical, medical terminology, physician office or healthcare experience preferred. Previous experience in direct patient care, data processing, multi-line telephones, registration and/or medical insurance experience desirable. . Licensure, certification, and/or registration: *Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. *AHA BLS-HCP required within 6 months of hire Other Minimum
Qualifications:
*Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-working required. *Must be organized and self -motivated. *Must have knowledge of office procedure and equipment. *Must complete NA course or successfully challenge NA course upon hire (not applicable to Velocity Care business unit). *Must successfully complete Cardiac Monitoring on Monitored units within three months of hire. *Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
