Assemble, maintain and repair all types of biomedical equipment utilizing various test equipment and tools necessary for the job. Perform preventive maintenance in accordance to manufacturers recommendations and departmental standards. Provide medical staff and nursing personnel with equipment in-services as necessary. Acts as senior engineer and resource to Biomedical Equipment Technicians I and II.
Exposed to a variety of electro-mechanical hazards. Move, and lift medium weight biomedical equipment, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, finger, feel, hear and see. On occasion must work in extreme hot, extreme cold, wet, dry and noisy environments. Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, burns, radiant energy and chemical hazards. Encounter fumes/odors, dust and gases. Must be able to work with others, work alone and work in cramped quarters. Possess proper use of hand and power tools. Maintain and display a professional attitude and appearance at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Associate degree in electronic or biomedical technology or equivalent knowledge/experience. Bachelor degree is preferred.
Must have a minimum of five years experience in the biomedical field.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration:
AAMI Certification required, or with expectation of certification within two years of employment.
Qualifications: Knowledge of electronic theory and skill in testing electronic equipment. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, electrical and mechanical quantities. Possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to carry out assigned tasks unsupervised per protocol. Must possess computer skills.
