Job Details:
****THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE, NC****
Provides, in collaboration with the CLC Management Team, the Medical Director and appropriate Assistant Medical Directors, day-to-day management of all technical aspects of the core laboratory operations. The Director is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality testing services, within the CLC budget and strategic plan, to all CLC customers. The incumbent is responsible for the establishment of a service delivery model which maximizes resource utilization and insures viability. Direct the day-to-day laboratory operations for all technical departments of the core laboratory. Provide oversight to all Quality Assurance, compliance and regulatory aspects of laboratory operations for Carilion Labs. Travel to other Carilion Labs' sites to provide direction, as necessary, in the areas of technical operations. Assist the Director of Product Development in the implementation of new product lines into the core laboratory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field, required. Advance degrees preferred.
Experience: 10 years of related experience required. Five to ten years of Supervisory/management experience preferred. Previous experience with daily operations in a high volume, multi-site, computerized laboratory is preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Must be certified as a Medical Technologist (MT(ASCP)/ Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS(NCA). Possess a valid Driver's License.
