Basic Functions: Support Carilions hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Administers life support care and transport to patients in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by physician. Performs a variety of skills related to acute and non-acute settings in ground and/or air transport. Responds to medical emergencies in a 911 setting and protects life and administers cardiac and trauma support when needed. Administers initial treatment at emergency scene, assesses patient response and makes adjustments as needed. Gathers and analyzes information and uses reason when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult customer situations and maintains confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical program in paramedic studies preferred.
Experience: One year Paramedic experience perferred . Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Certified in the State of Viginia as a Paramedic and maintains National Registered Paramedic status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP, EVOC class 3, and ACLS required. PALS, Haz Mat Awareness , NRP and PHTLS or BTLS required within one year from date of hire.

Qualifications: Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State and National standards. Must have good driving record.
