PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE:
Be responsible for all Engineering Department issues or tasks that occur during the shift. Communicate clearly any pending issues to Supervisor at shift change. Perform various maintenance/repairs as required.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Take responsibility for completion of task. Projects and to do lists on that shift.
* Report all emergencies, equipment down and other issues to immediate supervisor.
* Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow The Resort's etiquette guidelines.
* Inspect facilities on a regular basis, using a standard checklist. Inspections include lights, appliances, plumbing, interior building structure (doors, windows, walls, floors), heating and ventilation systems, smoke and fire alarm systems, etc. Deal with a variety of emergency or unusual problems that may arise.
* Plan and carry out minor maintenance and repair tasks as part of regular inspections.
* Prepare estimates of cost of repairs.
* Prepare reports on condition of units and maintenance or repairs needed and/or performed.
* Plan and carry out various maintenance and repair tasks in response to requests by guests.
* Maintain files of inspection checklists/reports.
* Confer regularly with immediate supervisor and various Company personnel (front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, etc.) to plan and coordinate activities/ projects (such as repairs requested by guests), exchange information, resolve problems, etc.
* Maintain tools and equipment.
* Follow appropriate safety and security procedures.
* Perform other tasks as assigned.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP:
Direction is received from the Vice President of Engineering/Facilities or other senior staff member.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Exposure to inclement weather conditions.
* Ability to work standing for long periods of time; ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bending, squatting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma, plus 3-4 years of relevant work experience and/or trades training, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
* Good basic knowledge and skills in the building/construction trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting/construction trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting/wallpapering, smoke/fire alarm systems, heating and ventilation systems, etc.
* Ability to deal with guests in a courteous and efficient manner.
* Ability to use general office equipment.
* Ability to perform all job duties.
