PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
Greet and seat customers in a restaurant and oversee food service.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow The Resort’s etiquette guidelines.
· Perform shift opening tasks: complete check register, set-up or count register bank, open doors, oversee table and service station set-up.
· Greet and seat customers.
· Issue checks to servers and/or customers.
· See that special requests are filled, handle unusual problems or complaints.
· Distribute customers evenly to waitstaff.
· Take reservations. Arrange for special set-ups for large parties.
· Assist with waiting on tables, bussing and bartending as needed.
· Monitor quality of service and food. Coordinate work of wait, bus, and kitchen staff.
· Carry out closing procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP
Immediate supervision over Restaurant Waitstaff. General supervision is received from the Outlet Manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school education desirable, plus one to two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
· Neat appearance and pleasant manners.
· Ability to deal with customers in a pleasant, courteous and efficient manner.
· Basic knowledge of restaurant operations.
· Basic reading, writing and math skills.
· Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of other employees, and to oversee and coordinate the work of others to a limited extent.
