Shifts/Days:
Approximately 7am - 4pm. Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Snow Removal - Winter Seasonal
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
To plow roads and parking lots in winter. To operate various equipment on summer construction projects. To oversee and coordinate the work of other equipment operators.
Landscaping & Snowremoval - Year Round
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
- Perform related summer grounds maintenance work; perform snow and trash removal from access roads and parking lots during winter season.
Snow Removal - Winter Seasonal
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) by following the Resort Etiquette Guidelines.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of a crew of equipment operators at work site.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and other supervisory functions as requested.
- Maintain roads and parking lots during winter season: plow; push back snow banks; remove snow using trucks and bucket loaders; salt and sand.
- Operate a variety of equipment on summer construction projects, such as clearing and building trails, installing drainage.
- Operate golf greens maintenance equipment in summer, such as tractor mowers and weed-eaters.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, as well as minor repairs if necessary.
- Maintain any required logs or records of activities.
- Equipment used may include: dump and pickup trucks, bucket loaders, tractors, chain saws, graders, backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, as well as a variety of small machines and hand-tools.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exposure to inclement weather conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School education or equivalent, plus three or more years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Some relevant previous experience driving trucks or operating heavy construction equipment.
- Strong mechanical skills. Some experience or training in vehicle mechanics desirable.
- Ability to operate trucks and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Landscaping & Snowremoval - Year Round
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow The Resort’s etiquette guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner.
- Prepare soil for planting; perform soil tests; weed; apply fertilizers, peat moss, and the like to cultivate soil
- Plant and transplant annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs and other plants
- Record all plantings and divisions.
- Perform regular maintenance: water, weed, cultivate, cut back, pinch back and dead head a variety of plants and flowers. Prepare maintenance schedule for each landscaped area. Apply fertilizer according to schedule. Apply pesticides as needed. Maintain compost pile.
- Maintain roads, parking lots, resort buildings, forum, restaurant decks during winter season. Plow, push back snow banks, remove snow using trucks and bucket loaders; salt and sand.
- Remove trash from the mountain restaurants and other facilities.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP
Supervision is received form the Resort Facilities Manager or other senior staff member.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exposure to inclement weather conditions.
- Daily lifting and bending.
- Standing or walking.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school with some post secondary education or training in horticulture or landscaping, plus 1-2 years of landscape design and implementation experience, or a combination of education and experience form which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Good mechanical skills needed to operate various grounds maintenance equipment and use hand tools.
- Ability to perform all job duties.
- Valid Drivers License, preferably in the state of Utah. Must obtain UT DL within 6 months of employment.
