Leisure Sales Manager

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
Responsible for overall management of leisure sales programs and distribution sources (Internet Distribution Companies, Wholesale travel Companies and Retail Travel Agencies).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the coordination and successful execution of all leisure sales programs. Rectify any deficiencies with respective operational departments.
• Establish strategic relationships with Internet Distribution Companies (IDC’s), i.e. Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity. Manage initiatives. Coordinate contracting. Oversee positioning.
• Manage strategic alliances with high end retail travel agencies.
• Manage domestic and international wholesale initiatives. Contracting and positioning.
• Work with revenue management department to develop initiatives that will allow for achievement of annual revenue budget in the wholesale category.
• Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow Resort’s etiquette guidelines.
• Develop and adhere to seasonal sales action plans to maximize year-round productivity.
• Meet and exceed established sales goals.
• Maximize room nights and lift ticket revenue through strategic relationships with wholesale travel companies, IDC’s and retail travel agents.
• Develop and execute leisure sales programs and/or promotions that offer increased revenue potential consistent with overall company goals.
• Compile sales data and analyze information to assist in leisure sales decision-making.
• Track competitive offers.
• Participate in Domestic and International travel shows. Represent The Canyons at travel related trade shows, sales events and personal calls as needed.
• Host and conduct familiarization tours and/or site visits for wholesale tour operators and/or retail travel agents customers.
• Work closely with accounting to insure that wholesale accounts are tracked and kept up-to-date. Payments should be received in accordance with contractual commitments.
• Insure that vendor credit applications are complete.
• Puts the guest at the forefront of every decision.
• Responsible for select ski clubs/councils that traditionally book direct.
• Responsible for working through wholesalers to secure ski club/ski council business opportunities.

• Supervision received from Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Lodging.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Office situation, i.e., sitting, standing or walking in a small area.
• Repetitive keyboard action.
• Ability to travel out of state.

QUALIFICATIONS
• One to three years experience in resort sales or some related hospitality field required.
• Business degree helpful.
• Ability to relate well with others.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic and willingness to accept challenge.
• Ability to perform all job duties/responsibilities.
