Summary:
This is a lead position responsible for production of drawings, specifications, studies and reports for a variety of large and small projects primarily in healthcare, industrial, commercial and educational facilities. A minimum of 10 years experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, communications and controls per all governmental codes and regulations is required. Work as part of a consultant design team which includes interaction with clients, contractors and team members as needed.
Specific Tasks
Responsible for all engineering and design functions of power distribution, lighting, communications and controls for complete contract document production. Performs design calculations and prepares equipment unit specifications and construction specifications in the 3 part CSI format. Perform energy audits/studies and final reports. Participate in scope, budget and scheduling activities for electrical engineering department. Leadership of electrical team staff and marketing ability are other essential qualities. Initiate extensive contacts with existing and potential clients requiring skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
Job Requirements :
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in building systems design.
Professional Engineering License (Ohio) by NCEES examination.
Preferred Experience:
Commercial parking lighting design Airport lighting design experience per FAA regulations Electrical systems commissioning Microstation/AutoCAD experience a plus.
Special Requirements:
Capable of technically managing electrical engineers and designers. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be familiar with the AE design process and specifications leading to construction documents using AutoCAD or Microstation.
