Job Description :
The Senior Technical Manager will be responsible for designing new software solutions and architectures for complex software applications based upon a given set of requirements, as well as for the organization’s internal projects. This role will have the ability to drive the design process from a software architecture perspective, providing support and the ability to respond to complex questions, while effectively managing customer expectations. The individual will be looked to be an expert within the organization for providing technical leadership, mentorship and direction in supporting sound software engineering concepts and practices. The position will manage, advise, participate and support projects and teams in the technical analysis of systems and their software architecture during design review meetings with other staff member.
Job Requirements:
* Experience & knowledge of Enterprise Level and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
* GCSS-AF architecture knowledge and implementation experience
* Comfortable experimenting with leading edge technology
* Web Application/Services Development and design required
* Experience in enterprise development/deployment environments within a web environment
* Ability to take ideas and concepts and turn these into service solutions
* Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, designs and requirements to other staff members.
* Ability to interface well with Professional Service staff and other non-technical members of the organization.
* Has detailed working knowledge of 3-5 different technologies
* Demonstrated aptitude and initiative for learning new technologies through formal and informal means
* Ability to translate client/customer requirements into meaningful technical design and solutions
* Portrays a positive image and attitude
* Able to adapt to change
* Able to set priorities
* Ability to mentor staff members
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Familiarity/knowledge with: C#, C++, VB.Net, Java, .Net Framework, SQL Server, Sybase and/or Oracle relational DB experience.
* Experience with inventory/asset management systems, hand-held (HHT) development, and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies a plus
* 80 to 90% architecture design, proposal development, mentoring, reviewing technical requirements documents, requirements review, high-level QA and other associated tasks as mentioned above. 10-20% programming/coding(minimal).
Mandatory: - 4 to 8 years experience - Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience Desirable: - Masters degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Science field
