GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Position is responsible for refereeing youth and adult basketball activities. Directly Supervised by the Athletics Coordinator and Athletics Assistant.
EXAMPLE S OF DUTIES: (not limited to)
Must communicate basketball rules clearly and calmly; insure safety of players and fans; and report any and all disturbances to Athletics Assistant and Athletics Coordinator. Responsible for reporting any damage to facility by renters; must be able to attend monthly staff meeting; provide feedback to the coordinator on strong points and opportunities for improvement. Provide feedback to coaches and players during games; and resolve parent and coach issues and complaints
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (not limited to)
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Colorado driver’s license. Able to demonstrate strong customer service skills and able to meet and serve the public effectively. Must have the ability to work independently. Must have good knowledge of basketball rules. Must have the ability to oversee athletic activities and take control when necessary. Must be able to work well with other people. Must be able to make quick decisions and stick with those decisions. Work is performed in a recreational setting involving the playing of basketball. Must be able to walk, stand, run, hear and speak in order to perform essential duties as a referee. Due to the job description this position will sometimes require strenuous physical activity including: program set up and, equipment loading and unloading, lifting heavy objects, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, and walking frequently.
Game times: Monday – Thursday from 6:00pm – 10:00pm. Occasional Friday and Saturday games.
