Description:
Under general supervision performs entry level professional civil engineering work to advanced professional applications in the planning, design, construction, inspection an/or coordination of Public Works projects and other related assigned duties. *Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Candidate must have an ability to manage multiple projects and be able to work independently; work well in a team approach to projects.
Engineering positions are part of a progression which means that we will fill the vacant position commensurate with the selected candidate’s training and experience. We prefer to hire an experienced engineer but will consider degreed candidates without the experience.

EX-28 - EX-44
ENGINEER I (EX-28) to SENIOR ENGINEER (EX-44)
Engineer I Pay Grade: EX-28 / Salary Range: $2,709 - $4,692/Mo.
Engineer II Pay Grade: EX-32 / Salary Range: $2,997 - $5,190 Requires EIT Certification
Engineer III Pay Grade: EX-36 / Salary Range: $3,323 - $5,756 Requires EIT Certification
Professional Engineer Pay Grade: EX-40 $3,731 / Salary Range: $6,461 Requires PE Certification
Senior Engineer Pay Grade: EX-44 / Salary Range: $4,122 - $7,139 Requires PE Certification
General Purpose:

Candidate must have an ability to manage multiple projects and be able to work independently; work well in a team approach to projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering; prefer one (1) year of related engineering to requiring experience to ten (10) years, depending on level.
Licenses and Certificates:
Certification within Oklahoma as an Engineer Intern as evidenced by successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination within one year of appointment or Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma and some positions require possession of a valid Oklahoma Class “D” Operator’s License, depending on the level requirement.
Skills Tests Required:
A written assessment may be administered.
Working Environment:
Working environment is primarily indoors in an office setting and occasionally outdoors and in inclement weather and requires some travel to various City locations to conduct fieldwork.
