Engineering Technician
Job Location: Pittsburg, KS
Description:
Performs paraprofessional engineering duties using CAD to generate construction plans for in-house design projects. Locates parcels of land within the City; verifies legal descriptions and parcel numbers; Reviews residential & commercial site plans for accuracy; Generates property descriptions for GIS, providing address, parcel number, building footprint(s), building numbers; Updates & adds new developments & changes existing information as it is revised; Researches & extracts data from various sources using CAD to prepare construction design plans for small projects; Prepares and develops special maps, graphs & charts using computer techniques & civil engineering programs; Conducts inspections of public projects for compliance with City regulations. Maintains central fuel station for City.
Requires:
Bachelors; and 3 -5 yrs sub-professional engineering experience; or equivalent combination of experience and training. LPA preferred, drug screen and valid license required.
