Geotechnical Engineers - Deep Foundation-High Rise Specialty
Job Location: Vernon Hills, IL
STS Consultants, Ltd.:
Midwest based consulting engineering firm specializing in Geotechnical Engineering and Design. The Company is a globally recognized provider of deep foundation engineering. STS has consulted on the design and construction of the four tallest buildings in the world, the soon to be tallest, and is currently working on dozens of major high-rise projects in the world's fastest developing regions. Having successfully completed numerous projects in the Middle East, the Company has recently established an office in Dubai, UAE, in response to the tremendous growth in high-rise development occurring in that region. The geotechnical practice is also involved on major projects throughout the Pacific Rim, in Eastern Europe and several major U.S. cities.
Responsibilities:
Vary by project and location and may include:
* Soil and material testing and monitoring.
* Laboratory analysis
* Modeling
* Foundation and retention system design.
* Planning and managing subsurface exploration and construction instrumentation.
* Seepage and slope stability analysis.
Requirements:
Senior Project level:
* 10 or more years of direct experience in foundation and retention system design and construction.
* Master's degree, Geotechnical Engineering.
* P.E. license, S.E. license a plus.
* Project management skills.
* Account/client management skills.
* Staff development and management abilities.
Requires:
* Occasional travel;
* Geotechnical problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of MathCAD).
* Critical thinking and analysis.
* Knowledge of current modeling software tools.
* Excellent verbal communication, design and report writing skills, including technical specification writing.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
