Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB: Responsible for the sale of the Coleman Company’s Outdoor Products to Walmart. Analyzes existing and anticipated customer requirements and promotes consideration of Company products and services to fill such requirements. Participates in the preparation of sales plans and campaigns, business plans, and product development plans. Conducts sales presentations.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare line reviews for Walmart Outdoor Products Business to grow the business through new items and market share shift utilizing the Coleman 2.0 Perfect Pitch and Large Account Management Process.
- Maintain the daily business process flow by persistent focus on in-stocks, promotional sell-thrus, shipping issues, and production issues.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of each facet of the process and keep the customer notified at all times.
- Maintain constant weekly business updates with each buyer
- Prepare first half and back half-promotional opportunities to meet or exceed prior item promotions to launch product introductions into future sell-in year as well as grow the promotional business.
- Supply market data to the customer and volunteer for customer functions.
- Know the Coleman business and future strategies.
- Work with Logistics Manager and Planner from Wal-Mart to develop Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
- All other projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business or equivalent direct selling experience.
- 3-5 years’ Sales management experience with National Accounts. This includes experience in managing sales representatives and/or managing sales personnel.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
- Solid presentation skills.
- Experience in establishing positive business relationships with merchandising management.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis of account programs and planning at the EBITDA level.
- In-depth knowledge of sporting goods and the mass marketplace.
- In-depth knowledge of Coleman customers and Coleman National accounts.
- Experience in development of strategic plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good PC skills necessary to include Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Solid planning and organization skills.
- Minimum of 5 years vendor team experience required.
